The dynamic Loading-plate compression test with the aid of the Light Weight Deflectometer (LWD) is used in earth work, excavations and road and railway constructions. It helps to determine the load-bearing capacity and compaction of soils and base layers without bonding agents and contributes to the improvement of soils. The test is suitable for coarse-grained and mixed-grained soils with a grit size of up to 63mm. The result is the dynamic deformation module Evd and is shown in MN/m². The measuring range is between 5MN/m² and 70MN/m². The test is accepted according to German regulations TP BF.StB Part B 8.3.
